Omega Master Co-Axial: Our Collection

Recently, Swiss prestige watchmaker Omega has been actively promoting the exciting launch of their brand new Master Co-Axial movements, and to this end an exclusive luncheon has been held at sky100; the Hong Kong observation deck that holds the distinction for being the highest comparable structure in the area. Presented as being ‘the solution’ to the longstanding issue of ensuring mechanical watch performance in the face of magnetism, the Master Co-Axial was received with great enthusiasm at an event where the effects of magnetism were thrown into stark reality.

Thanks to a dramatic visual experience that allowed attendees to ‘see’ the magnetic fields that were generated by simple items such as their belongings, Omega’s claim that they have ‘solved a problem that has perplexed clock and watchmakers for centuries’ looks less and less like an unrealistic boast, and more like a truly landmark claim in the history of horology. We’ve talked about the new Omega Master Co-Axial movement before here on our blog, but this latest piece of news from Omega seemed like a fine precursor to a new feature that took a look at our current collection of Master Co-Axial timepieces from the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra range.

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Master Co-Axial 38.5 MM

The Aqua Terra assemblage was especially designed as a way to commemorate Omega’s maritime heritage, and this 38.5 mm example is the smaller of the two variants that we have in stock. Despite being predominantly intended as a gents’ watch, the ‘mid-size’ status of this timepiece means that it could easily be worn by an interested feminine party as well. Possessing the distinctive lacquered dial that mimics the aesthetics of traditional sailing boat decks, both black dial and silver dial alternatives are available, with either option being presented on a stainless steel bracelet that matches the 38.5 mm case.

Housing the Master Co-Axial calibre 8500, this timepiece is resistant to magnetic fields of up to 15,000 gauss, and you can also observe this very special movement through a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal exhibition caseback. Both the black dial Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Master Co-Axial 38.5 mm watch and the silver dial Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Master Co-Axial 38.5 mm watch retail at £3,800, but can be yours today for 36 monthly payments of £84.44 alongside a 20% deposit.

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Master Co-Axial 41.5 MM

Slightly larger than the previous Aqua Terra timepiece at 41.5 mm in diameter, this watch possesses all of the features of the 38.5 mm version, but in a more powerful and masculine frame. Again, two different designs are on offer, with a classical black and silver timepiece, completed with a bracelet, joined by the less minimalist Aqua Terra that we reviewed some weeks ago. This particular wristwatch is instantly noticeable thanks to the warm orange and brown hues upon the dial and the leather strap, and is a good indicator that the new Aqua Terra Master Co-Axial is far more than just a sterile vehicle to convey a piece of, admittedly remarkable, technology.

Both the stainless steel Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Master Co-Axial 41.5 mm watch and the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Master Co-Axial 41.5 mm watch with the stylish leather strap are available now from Banks Lyon, with the former retailing at £3,800, or for 36 monthly payments of £84.44 and a 20% deposit, and the latter being priced slightly less at £3,720, or on 0% finance for 36 monthly payments of £82.67 and a 20% deposit. If you’d like to find out more about any of these Aqua Terra watches, or indeed learn more about any member of our Omega watches collection, then we welcome you to get in touch with us here at Banks Lyon.
